I have finally made it to Italy! When I was younger I had a chance to live in Guam for 4 years and to visit Hawaii, Okinawa, the Philippines and Korea. I had always said that if I had the chance I would love to visit Europe, in particular Italy. At WPPI this year, Gene Higa mentioned during his platform that he was having a workshop in Tuscany and I knew then that I wanted to go! On Saturday, October 24th, I met up with my good friend Jeff Wilson in Cincinnati and we headed over. Washington DC to Cincinnati Ohio, Cincinnati to Paris, Paris to Florence and then a hour and fifteen minute ride to the villas. Now I am here in Tuscany attending Gene Higa’s and Jose Villa’s photography workshop.
We arrived here on Sunday and checked into our villa called Borgo di Fontebussi. When the evening came, we headed down to the main villa where the workshop will take place (about a minute away) and had dinner, it was incredible!!! Everything was prepared from scratch. I had a great time talking to Gene Higa, Ann Hamilton and the other attendees that were present from all over. Tomorrow (Monday), the other attendees including Bob Davis are scheduled to arrive. Before leaving for dinner, I took a few photos from our villa.
