I have been intrigued about the selection of flowers that brides often use for their wedding for some time. I finally decided to take a little time to look into it and found some very interesting information. I had NO IDEA what flower language (also known as Floriography) happened to be until I started out on this little quest. As it turns out, flower language started during the Victorian Era as a way for couples to send each other passionate messages without going against the social etiquette. What was the social etiquette? I am glad you asked The social code during this time would not allow you to publicly tell the person you love your true feelings. The flower language became a way around this.

For this post I figure I would spotlight a flower that I often see at weddings, the Calla Lily. The Calla Lily represents magnificent beauty. It’s a reminder of past generations when grace and beauty were the rule. Calla Lilies help create sophisticated atmospheres which is why they stand out so well at weddings.
