When it comes to headshots for branding, it’s important to understand how headshots should be photographed and the difference between branding headshots and corporate headshots. Our client Yashieka came to us to update her headshots to be used for marketing purposes and we elected to use the white background. The reason this is important is because when your headshot will be used for graphics, often times, the background will need to be removed. This is so the graphic artist can composite or place your image over other graphics without the background getting in the way. More traditional “corporate headshots” which we love to shoot as well, will have more of a darker background with lighting that will vary depending on the mood of the image. Also, corporate headshots can also be called environmental headshots because the shoot can happen in the executive’s office or some place else on location, not just the studio.
